Set Realistic Expectations Early

Send a pre-start message that's honest about what the week looks like. Don't oversell. Tell them: "The first week is hard. You'll feel awkward. That's normal. We have a plan for you." This one message reduces no-shows and sets the tone that this team takes onboarding seriously.

The 5-Day Plan
Day 1 — Foundation, Not Field

Learn the Why, Product, Pitch & Tools

No doors on day one. Teach them why the product matters, how it works, the core pitch framework, and the tools they'll use every day. End with role-play, not a territory.

Day 2 — Ride Along

Watch a Strong Rep Work

Pair them with one of your best. Their job: watch, listen, take notes. Debrief after every 5-10 doors. They should see what "good" looks like before they attempt it.

Day 3 — First Knocks With Support

Manager Present, 30-Second Debriefs

They knock, you watch. After each door, a quick 30-second debrief: what went well, one thing to adjust. Keep it positive and specific.

Day 4 — Slightly Longer Leash

Check-Ins Every Hour or Two

Let them work a small area on their own with scheduled check-ins. They start to feel the rhythm of independent work with a safety net.

Day 5 — First Solo Block

Small Territory, Few Hours Alone

A defined, manageable area. A few hours on their own. End the day with a real conversation about how they feel — not just their numbers.
